I encourage everyone to buy a stand alone unit that's easier and cheaper to upgrade, and more versatile that you can use walking, hiking, biking, for tours, finding your car in a huge parking lot, you name it, and at the rate technology improves and prices drop, it has never made sense to me to get a built-in GPS in a car that you plan to keep for years.
